Two very important items to remember for your trip are different style watches. I get a lot of “You wear a watch? Don’t you have a cell phone to check the time?” and to that I usually answer “Are you joking?”
First off, a watch is usually the one piece of jewelry that a man can get away with without look like Liberace.
Secondly, it is a compliment to the clothes you wear so make sure you chose which timepieces you bring carefully.
The first one I listed is my newest acquisition but also the most versatile. I found this watch on Saturday afternoon whilst looking for fabrics at Goodwill. I really wanted a brushed stainless bracelet timepiece. This is the watch that goes well with everything. The suit, the jeans, the sweater, etc., etc. It was filthy when I got it and the crystal needs to have some scratches buffed out of it, but after I cleaned it up with some polish and Windex the thing looked fantastic on my wrist as well as with my navy blue suit.

My second choice is the more formal watch that also carries it’s weight in diversity. My vintage Bulova Caravelle . I did my research on this timepiece that I accquired on e-bay for $20 and found out it’s production date is from 1970. It is mechanical with 17 jewel movement. I love this piece because, just like the aforementioned, it works with so many outfits. If you go mechanical instead of quartz, make sure you find a good watch guy to clean and service your investment. Most will try and tell you that you should buy a nice new quartz watch in which you should reply, “Fuck off.” A quartz watch is not an investment. Swiss made automatics and mechanical pieces usually are.

Remember these three simple rules when choosing your timepieces for travel:
- Make sure it is as versatile as your wardrobe.
- A timepiece should be understated, not the size of your flat screen television.
- It should be classic and clean.
*FOLLOW UP*:
Does anyone know who these guys are? If you own one of their watches or know of someone who has, please leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail.
THANKS!
