New Product Alert – Peasants + Travelers

One of the best perks of running a blog is that I get to review great products that have not hit the market yet. Today’s focuses on a men’s bag/luggage company called Peasants and Travelers. Headquartered on the West Coast, designer Jee Kim has an obvious handle on excellent construction and color combinations. My yearning question was, “Can one of these bags really take a beating in New York City?” So a sample was sent and a love affair began.

When the Computer Bag (see pics below) arrived the first thing I noticed was the excellent construction and clean minimalist design. In my hands it felt strong, sturdy, yet really light. The zipper opened with smooth ease to reveal a special surprise inside: interlining made of men’s shirt material and compartments galore. I brought it around my office and everyone was very impressed with the look and design.

In the wild, the bag is a dream. I stuffed it with a small umbrella, my laptop, a copy of The New Yorker, gum, cigarettes, a pen, my phone, etc. and something amazing happened. It didn’t feelĀ  heavy. Even the handle remained comfortable as I commuted from Brooklyn to Manhattan, ran errands, and commuted back again.

The bags come in a range of clever designs and have a unique feel to them. There is a design called The Doctor Bag and The Envelope Bag that are way very striking yet not flashy. It’s just the right amount of pop you can add to your wardrobe without over doing it.

Check out my photos below and grab one of your own starting this week at:

Peasants and Travelers

Prices range from $45-$199. The Computer Bag is $69.
