Steal These Looks: Frank Sinatra
Every Sunday I like to make a big pot of coffee, turn on NPR at noon, and listen to Jonathan Schwartz spin someĀ classic American jazz and show tunes. On a perfect day, he will play a block of Frank Sinatra songs that bring me back to the days of my youth when my parents would throw Old Blue Eyes onto the record player while entertaining or playing cards. That voice of his is a wonderful, comforting sound.
What I think most of us overlook is just how stylish Frank Sinatra was. His ability to make a suit look comfortable, something as accessible as a t-shirt and jeans, is a feat no one man has matched to this day. The lazy fedora, the sway of the cigarette in hand, the not so straight yet perfect pocket square. All these elements he made classic, easy, and straight up cool as all hell.
