Indochino Trumps Indochino
by Dennis Cahlo on September 14, 2009
Indochino is by far ahead of the custom game for the “average” man. Now having implemented their latest upgrades as FREE additions to their beautifully made custom suits, they’ve managed to trump themselves. I cannot stress to you all how wonderful it is for us to have these options from an online suit maker for far less money than any off the rack option.
When I was offered to try these services I made it a point to get as many custom goodies I could to review. My suit arrived last week and when I opened the beautiful new Indochino packaging I found inside one of the most beautiful suits I own.
I am going to let the photos do most of the talking. Enjoy.

Sharp! I like the peaked lapels.
Great pics and I agree Indochino has some fabulous custom options. However while these added options appear to be free, is it just me or did a lot of their suit prices go up like $20-$50?
Either way you seem to get great suits at unbeatable prices so I’m not complaining, really.
Hey Patrick,
The suits did go up a bit but they are still a LOT less than off the rack and with custom options like these, I think it’s still so much better than any off the rack.
Best,

I do think the updates are worth the price. What settings do you use for shoulder and posture? I can’t figure out what I should be using.
I use 17 inches across for my shoulders. I’m 5’11” and 165 lbs. I use the NORMAL posture option.
Hope that helps!

Dennis,
I just discovered your blog and I must say I’m impressed and will be adding you to my feed. I recently ordered my first Indochino suit and I’m generally happy with what I received (sleeves were 2″ longer than i ordered and the shoulders a bit larger) but will be further refining my next order. If I have a few questions for you do you mind a personal email or prefer dialogue inside the comments section?
Thanks!
Great Blog! The styles you put together are right out of GQ at a cost that most of us can actually afford…
I just received my first Indochino suit a couple days ago – unfortunately I had not happened upon your page before I ordered as your measurement tips would have been useful. I found the suit a little roomy so I’m going to take it to my tailor and see if she can alter it to the kind of fit I was looking for but if not will get it remade with an appropriate variation on the adjustments you suggest.
I was curious about your thoughts on the side tabs though. When I ordered I was expecting them to be more simple (like just a tab of fabric with a buttonhole and a couple small buttons close together on the waist – guess I didn’t pay much attention to their illustration in the options list). I found that the design makes them quite bulky on the waist of the pants, and makes the pockets sort of open. It also makes the inside of the waistband visible where it breaks to meet the tabs, especially from behind. If I do get a remake I am thinking of just getting belt loops. I noticed you got yours with side tabs and belt loops – if you have a belt on do the tabs not make the belt bulge out? I like the clean look of a waistline with no belt loops but think with that tab design it may be a bit sleeker with a belt.
Hey Nick,
Thank you so very much for that compliment! You 100% get the intention of the blog.
On to your question, I do find the tabs a bit bulky but have not experienced too much awkwardness when wearing the suit with a belt. I am, however, wearing a very thin belt with it so that may have to do with why it doensn’t look so cumbersome.
The next time you order or if you have the remake done, send Indochino an e-mail asking for NO BELT LOOPS. That way you can just have the sidtabs and it will look super sharp. Unless of course you do not like them which in that case just have them left out.
Hope that helps!
